In a way, Dell is like Walmart.  Love them for their inexpensive
nature, hate them for how they get their prices.  Still, if you're
budget conscious, go with a Dell.  I'm on a budget and shop at
Walmart, even knowing it's killing competitors and has questionable
work force ethics.

As fond as I am of my Gateway, that company screwed itself in finances
awhile back (not the right business decisions and not cutthroat
enough).  I remember there used to be a Gateway store here (the
obvious cow print exterior paint job) but it was closed down.  While
it's still kicking now, Gateway's economic future is definitely
uncertain.

Whatever model you choose, please research.  Various computer forums
gab about users' personal experiences or if there are legit recalls...
