Though I vaguely remember reading JKR saying that the shape of
Harry's scar was not significant. Of course, just becaure it
isn't 'significant' doesn't mean it can't be symbolic.

I think the SOWILU fit HP more than EIHWAZ. The process of Harry's
adventures are bringing him to the place of wholeness. Like DD
before him, Harry is being transformed into the Son. Han's is right.
It is all about Alchemey. The HP series is about the transformation
of a human being into the image and likeness of God.

I don't usually read fiction. HP was the first book of fiction that
I read in over 20 years. I see fiction as escapest and there are too
many good nonfiction books and too little time to read them all. But
when I had adults friends who wanted the books for Christmas and
also heard that it had been banned in Mississippi or some such
place, I went to the library and read the first book.

It was while reading the part about Harry's scar that I realized
what it was that I was reading. I said to myself "this is no
ordinary children's book. This is a book with serious Christian
symbolism. Wonder where the author is going with this?" And with
that I have gone on the read the rest of the series and become a
very obsessed fan.

I see the scar as simular to the sign of the cross that is put on a
Christian at their baptism. I also think that it is significant that
the chapter with the scene of DD's murder is called "the lightning
struck tower". This connects the events on the tower to the mark on
Harry. Just as Jesus on the cross is connected to the sign of the
cross. I think that there will be some connection to this parring
and the last word in the last book. Scar.
