Probably a technical problem, I see they are back on-line now at
midnight (Sunday).
I believe I recently read that it cost ...brace yourself... $120,000
per year to keep the Leaky Cauldron (www.the-leaky-cauldron.org) up
and running. I suspect, using that as a model, that the cost of
keeping the Harry Potter Lexicon is similar.
At the bottom right hand side of the main Lexicon screen in a link
that allows you to donate to the Lexicon either by purchasing your
Harry Potter mechandise through them, or by making a direct donation.
I believe MuggleNet and The Leaky Cauldron also have this option. If
you are ordering your Harry Potter books from Amazon or are purchasing
merchandise directly from Warner Brothers, it would be nice if you
went to one of these Fan Sites and used the links found there. Just by
linking from one of these fan site, the site will get a commission
from anything you purchase.
Just passing it along.
