Um, I didn't consider your message rude, but correct me if I'm wrong,
'OT' in HPFGU-OTChatter references 'off-topic' chatter that doesn't
belong on HPFGU?  From the front page:
"OTC is open to threads unrelated to Harry Potter; in addition,
HP-related topics that do not contribute to our
understanding/interpretation of canon belong here."

As long as no copyrights or confidentiality (anything that can place
this group in a legal problem) or personal attacks, then everything is
fair game for posting.  I believe even the ban on religious topics may
have been released around the time of the new pope... as long as the
conversation remained civil.

Awhile back, someone asked for puppy names, so it's understandable for
baby names.  Ditto on past topics for folks who hoped for a second
opinion or sympathetic ear.

Then again, I'm just a regular member, so don't take my word on list
rules.  I've posted about miscellaneous topics since I had joined some
time ago.
