Umm... you're not too late on the Revealer (eraser), it's still
current.
The only things on the Lexicon that are old (and don't work anymore)
are the Door openings and the Diary entries archive.
All of the Scrapbook puzzles are up-to-date, I assure you. :-)

If you can't work it, then you are either in the Accessibility Enabled
version (which is designed for sight and hearing impared folks who use
screen readers and keyboard controls instead of the mouse) or you have
a problem with the Flashplayer (or a pop-up blocker) on your computer.

Here's how to work the Revealer (eraser) in the Extra Stuff section on
the Accessibility Enabled version-
1. Use the Hairbrush to enter the ExtraStuff bulletin board screen.
2. Press your Tab key until the yellow box shows up around the
Revealer. (A yellow box will show up around different items each time
you press Tab.)
3. Now type "r" on your keyboard.
4. The potion recipe on the blank paper will suddenly appear.

If this works for you, then you are in the Accessibility Enabled
version. If you want to work all the puzzles using your mouse, then
click on one of the flags to enter the site instead.

P.S. For anyone who wants to have some fun experimenting with the
Accessibility Enabled version... 'right click' on the Revealer and
click 'Zoom in', a couple times, to read why I'm calling this the
Revealer. =D
