Christian:

I believe Braun has a wet-and-dry model, though I've never used on
myself. I used only electric razors until I was about 28 or so (both
rotary head models like Philips and foil-based razors like Braun or
Panasonic), when the electric razor I used at the time simply failed
- it just stopped. I needed a shave, but couldn't afford a new
electric at the time, so got some Gilette start-kit out of the
grocery store and gave it a try. The difference was very marked -
after trying blades for the first time (having *never* before tried
that way of shaving, or been taught about it/shown it) I was fully
converted. I found that my skin was *much* less sore and irritated,
and the shave was a lot smoother, than when using an electric razor.
In fact, after shaving with a balde, it takes typically about 24-36
hours before I reach the state of stubble that I'd be in when freshly
shaven with an electric razor. I generally find cuts are very
infrequent.

Based on the promotion I've seen of it, Gilette's new vibrating
bladecartridges appears to be little or no more bulky than a regular
Mach 3 cartridge. It seems some of the models in the vibrating
series also have a single blade on one edge of the cartridge to use
for shaving just under the nose and in other tricky spots, also.
These are not sold in shops where I currently live, so I have no
experience with them.

Best regards
