A question about wizards... and Warlocks

You know, I would have originally answered that I
think "Warlock" might have been a title, but reading
your note gives me another idea. Could "warlock"
possibly be plural for wizard? Like geese is for
goose? For instance, you wrote:

You also wrote:
"Others have speculated that it is a political title.
Dumbledore is head warlock of the Wizengamot."
In the latter example, the fact that DD is the head of
a group (of wizards AND witches) still fits that it
might just be plural.
Just a thought and I concede to the possibility that
there could be conflicting evidence in the books.
I've only read each one twice (so far) and there's
always some things I miss.
