All varies based on seller feedback/ratings and location in
relationship to yours.  I'm sorry to hear about your bad eBay
experiences. :-(

If you're in the US, have you tried Overstock, for example?  That's
just one 'discount' seller I was looking at.  I did a quick add up for
all six audio books on CD to get an apprx total of $226.24 and there
are 12% off and free shipping codes floating around, which should take
the total to around $200 and closely matches the cost of your first
auction... and I've had no problems with Overstock.  In fact, I took
advantage of website discounts that, um, I shouldn't have used.  Not
sure how long the codes are valid for.
