Keep in mind that this was in "The Mirror" which is a
tabloid one step short of "Tony Blair is a Space Alien"
caliber new reporting.

Also, several other news reporters were at the same tea
and none of them are reporting the same story.

As a side note, during the tea Rupert got to close to a
tea candle and started his shirt on fire. Ever so cool,
he put it out and said it was OK because the shirt looked
cooler with a hole in it.

Also, since JKR is still writing the books, it couldn't
possibly be 750 printed pages. It is probably 750 pages
in her word processor, but we don't know if that is
double spaced, wide margins, or whatever. It is very hard
to draw a direct parallel between pages of manuscript
and pages of actual book.

Keep in mind that to keep the book size reasonable they
frequently mess with things life font face and type size.
Reduction of a single point of font can substantially
reduce the size of a large book. Notice how they manage
to get those great big hard cover books into those tiny
little paperbacks.

Many have said that until JKR confirms this on her website
they are taking it with a gain of salt.
