For those who don't know (or have yet googled it), suet is beef or
mutton fat.  I don't know if I call it awful, but it certain wouldn't
be called dessert, and while I see the logic in it, I'm going to try a
few variations sans-suet.

Anyway, if suet is your only problem, I would recommend a variation of
a fruitcake and flame it with brandy.  Regardless, though, I'm going
to try my hand at some variations this weekend and will let you all
know the results.  The best Christmas puddings I've had all tend to be
a moist (thanks to a combo of alcohol and fruit juice), fruit-filled
cake, though not fruitcake since I detest those oddly coloured fruit
pieces.

Thanks to wikipedia, now you can all ready about the pudding (or cake
for the Americans) I'm going to try my hands at this weekend.  (Thanks
