Secca (formerly Argus Pyrites) adds:
Sandy, and any others coming in to this thread late, I just want to
make sure that you understand that there is nothing wrong with the
Immeritus site! It is a Harry Potter site that is focused on all
things having to do with Sirius Black. The site is well done and
deserving of the Fan Site Award Mrs. Rowling gave them. Among the
many things offered at the site, they have an active FanFiction
group there, which does offer 'Adult' rated stories, but
anything 'Adult' in nature is carefully screened and inaccesible to
kids, and those who don't wish to view it.
The Fandom Glossary I mentioned in my post was the *only* thing I
was at issue with. It has a link on the homepage, which is protected
by a written notice (a very obvious, hard to miss written notice).
Only about 10% of the definitions in this glossary are what might be
considered 'Hard' or offensive.
I was worried that this might be a problem for parents, but I don't
want it to seem that I, or anyone else should not visit the site!
Even a nine year old will be fine with all of their content (other
than the Fandom glossary... )
Also, it seems most people felt I was overreacting anyway, which I
was concerned might be the case. I brought it up here to get some
other opinions, and HP4GU, never short on opinions, was happy to
oblige!
I personally have decided that no further action seems necessary, so
am officialy stepping off the soapbox, with a last 'Thank you' to
everyone.
(BTW- the name change is so that my screename matches the one I use
over at Potter's Keys, where I've just been put on staff)
