That's Louisiana, all right.
But anyway, whether a particular party requires you to sign your full
legal name is a different matter than whether it would be legally
required to be recognized as a signature.
maybe you could just claim it's a really squiggly "X" and have a
witness countersign.

I'm not a lawyer either - but just because it's your experience
doesn't mean that they didn't impose requirements above and beyond
being a legal signature in order to cover themselves.
