I was basing my opinion on the MuggleNet photo linked to
above. The photo at Wikipedia, given in another part of
this thread, does make her look closer to what I expected
Tonks to look like. But none the less, I stand by what
I said. I also expected Tonks to be something of a punk.
I picture her as thin, not quite so heavy in the chest,
and with a very quirky personality. The photo of
Movie!Tonks has her looking entirely too mainstream cool.
Now, I'm basing this on a very limited photo, she may, in
the end, be able to portray Tonks very nicely. Further we
don't really know how much screen time Tonk will get in the
movie. So, the casting is done and I guess I have to
accept it. Far better to do that, and just let the movie
play out, rather than let myself get into an obsessive
snit about it.
I guess if I had to sum it up, I would say that my vision
of Tonk is quirky fringe sexy as opposed to the sense of
mainstream sexy I get from the photo.
