Surprisingly, I've read that Harris also didn't read the books, and I 
definitely know that he didn't take advantage of the talk with Jo that 
she offered to all the actors.  As far as I know the only adult actors 
that did were AR and Robbie Coltrane.

Perhaps if Gambon had read PoA he would have told Cuaron that DD 
wouldn't yell at Harry like that!
