Trouble with AOL and the JKR website

Carol responds:
It may have something to do with the version of the flash player
that's installed. For example, Flash Player 9 is completely
incompatible with Netscape, and causes it to crash. Something similar
could be going on with IE or AOL. AOL itself sometimes causes crashes.
I considered using it when my regular ISP was down, but it didn't
work, and the newly installed components interfered with Yahoo and
everything else.

My suggestion: If you don't want to use Netscape or Firefox or some
other alternate browser, install the latest Flash Player, the one
that's compatible with IE but no other browser, and get rid of AOLL.
There are many cheaper ISPs out there that don't control your browsing
and interfere with other programs the way AOL does.

Carol, wondering if the people who were collecting AOL CDs to dump on
the company's doorstep once they'd collected a million of them are
still engaged in their noble work
