Within a certain framework of course you are right.
My purpose in giving repeated warnings was "Informed
Choice". I wanted people to fully understand the
nature of this photo image, and to therefore be
able to make their individual choices in the matter.
Note that some people here, understanding the nature
of the photo, chose not to look for personal reasons.
It would have been uncomfortable for some to have simply
posted the link, and then had some fan go to the site
thinking they were going to see another 'Fan' photo
of Dan, only to find a full nude image. Some people
simply do not want to see Dan in that light. I wanted
them to understand the nature of the photo BEFORE
they saw it. Again, I wanted to make sure people
could have an 'informed choice'.
Personally, I have no problem with nudity, but I had
to respond with a mind toward serving the greatest
number of people in the best and most informed way.
As to nudity in general, that is usually 'Christian
Guilt'. The Japanese, for example, used to be very
open about nudity. For the most part, nudity and
sexuality were completely separate. There were
many public bath in Japan, and it wasn't uncommon
for a family to gather with their neighbors, including
the kids, and make a 'nude' night of it at the public
bath.
However, once Christian Westerners intruded on Japans
very open and natural society, they heapws loads of
guilt on them, and gradually Japan changed. Now nearly
all the 'family' public baths are closed, and only the
more seedy type remain.
Oddly, societies like this that were open and casual
about nudity, were also very modest and conservative
societies, which, in some sense, seems a contradiction.
However, ever if you look at western societies that are
very hung up about nudity, they are usually the most
immoral and promiscuous societies. Again, a seeming
contradiction.
Note that at one time nudity was so frowned upon by
'Christians' that any nudity was forbidden. You couldn't
be nude to bath. May priests would bath themselves with
their robes on. Others went so far as to NEVER bath on
the assumption that any touching of the body was a sin.
Just a few thoughts.
