I tend to agree with you that JKR seems  unnecessarily "brutal" in many
aspects. (Obviously, discussion of specifics  must wait.) And I definitely
do not think the book is suitable for  children, (g), unless they are 
at least  30!




Sandy:
In the chat and in my journal I stated that this is not a child's book.  
Totally unsuitable for anyone under the age of 16 at least. I am nearly 59 and  
chapter one was just horrifying, and the violence throughout the book was more  
than I could bear. Yes, very brutal. JKR has a dark, evil, twisted mind - imo 
of  course.
