Belinda, I've got a question about the source for the BFT. The Lexicon
attributes the Black Family Tree information to three sources: two are
partially obscured pictures that were published in the Daily Telegraph
and in a Spanish magazine; the third source, where most of the names
and dates come from, is a fan "Aberforth the Marauder" who went to the
pre-Auction exhibition and took notes, ie. copied all those names and
dates by hand, if I understand correctly.
I've never seen any other pictures or seen any other accounts from
anyone else who may have seen the *original* that JKR drew. The
auction winner never published the full information anywhere either,
right?
So, my point is, almost all the information the Lexicon has about the
BFT is technically from a secondary source, possibly subject to
transcription error. Not that I'm claiming there actually *are* any
transcription mistakes, but without a corroborating source how can you
be sure?
Are there any other pictures of, or independent accounts of, the
*original* BFT out there? Just curious. Everything I've seen was based
on the Lexicon account.
Elisabet, who greatly appreciates the Lexicon and everyone who
contributes to it, don't get me wrong!
