Not exactly answering the question because I am reading it now,
but "Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell is the most original, thought-
provoking, and just downright brilliant book I have read in a long
time. I can imagine some of you other bookworm Potterites who like a
challenge will enjoy it as well. The book actually changes genres
throughout, so there is a travelogue, an awesome sci-fi storyline,
memoir, etc. in all differnt time periods, and the storylines all
connect in very unexpected ways. If you like trolling for clues in
HP, this book is great fun as you try to find the connections and
tie everything together. Not to mention the writing prowess of the
author, who composes interesting stories in all of the different
genres. I have cried, laughed out loud, and had the "this is
amazing" shivers a number of times, and I still have about 50 pages
left to read.
It is not HP, it is an adult book and some sections are more
challenging, highly literary reads, but I'm guessing there are some
of you out there who would be as thrilled as I have been reading it.
