Goddlefrood Responds:
Well, I have already read the six books published so far, I'm a
fast reader;)
Once I have read DH, which dependent on length should take until
the 22nd July or so, I will read other books on my shelf, as I do
now.
I am reading a Ruth Rendell novel "A Sight For Sore Eyes",
amongst others at the moment. I enjoy reading early source
materials for Greek and Roman history and have some more to read
before I tackle the full length version of Gibbon's Decline and
Fall of the Roman Empire, which indubitably will come around
after the HP books have been completed by me.
In terms of recommendations, and I note that some of these have
been mentioned on this thread already, allow me to suggest all or
any of the following:
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Series by Douglas Adams
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket, IMO, the best
of that ilk of series.
Agatha Christie, just about any, but especially the Hercule Poirot
and Miss Marple books.
The Jeeves & Wooster series by P. G. Wodehouse, and almost anthing
else by same author.
I have a bookmark that sums this up rather well. It says simply:
"If you haven't read it, it's a new book!"
Hope some may find this of use.
Goddlefrood, planning to curl up and finish that Ruth Rendell :)
