Sheryll:

My mother used to save bacon grease, too, but for
different reasons. She used to cook with it. Even
popcorn was made in the frying pan with bacon grease.
Did you know that if you fry hot dogs in a cast iron
frying pan using bacon grease they taste like they've
been on the BBQ? Not sure why, but it works for me. 

Sheryll, liking the taste of pig fat, not so much
worrying about the arteries :)
