I notice that American Bisuits only taste like the real thing if they're made with
Crisco type shortening. I am not sure what shortening means in the UK, but in
Oz it's usually butter or margerine. I had to search the international foods
section of my local supermarket to get Crisco shortening. I don't think we have
anything like a vegetable shortening here unless its in oil form or solid (for deep
frying -- not suitable for baking). It might be the same in the UK, since we are
little mirrors of British culture (well, getting more influenced by the US every day
but you know what I mean)
