Here is an article of an interview with Rowling. I was a bit late 
reading it. It was 2 days ago. It says what I have know all along 
from the first book.

Harry is a Christ figure. He is not "THE" Christ, only Jesus is 
that. But there are many in the series that are a Christ figure. I 
think it was Tolkien who said that Christ was on every page of his 
books. And now the same can be said of Rowling’s.
