How to address mail to the UK

Goddlefrood:

England is a Country, but only really a historical one. 
Administratively Westminster governs the UK, so, yes London 
is now the capital of England and the UK.

Goddlefrood:

Think of it as a club in which all the members fit and get benefits 
from membership. I currently live in a susp-ended member of the 
Commonwealth, if you like it's been blackballed from the club.
