Geoff:
On the other hand, the reason why 'then' appeared instead 
of 'than' may be the same as that which caused your 
'Grammer Nazi'.

This was an unfortunate disease I discovered a few years 
ago called 'Tangle Finger Syndrome' (TFS). I suffer from 
frequent attacks.
