Carol responds:

Are you thinking of George, Duke of Clarence, brother of Edward IV and
Richard III? (Richard was Duke of Gloucester when George was
executed.) Supposedly, Clarence was drowned in a butt of malmsey, his
favorite wine. I won't go into the details, but his brother Edward
declared him guilty of treason.

Carol, who thinks that George was also guilty of knowing too much
about Edward's love life
