Potioncat:
I thought the offensive nature of the name was that it implied that a 
male of a certain ethnic background would likely be a wife-beater. 
(Italian? Polish? European?) Or are they considered Gangsta now? 
Different ethnicity. I'll ask Sarah what she thinks.

(oh yeah, a teenaged girl's answer is going to be very helpful.)

What are they called in stores? That might be a better choice.
