Forgive me for responding since I'm not the original questioner and
have no plans to attend any conference, but your post, while
informative, leaves several questions unanswered.

What are HBEF and Narrate? When and where are the two conferences
(Portus and Terminus) and what's the difference in cost?

Also, the paper on "Snape's Eyes" sounds interesting. Is it posted on
the Internet anywhere? If so, Id appreciate a link.

Carol, whose only experience with conventions relates to the MLA
