Even though I attend a state-sponsored university in pursuit of an MBA, 
the reputation & prestige of the all-academic schools like Harvard, 
Stanford, Vanderbilt, etc. is well-known & the reputation of the 
professor who published it may have gotten their fifteen minutes of 
fame, but took a huge spiral downward with their colleagues as well.  
It's really not too shocking to hear that folks don't know a lot of 
their geography, as I know of a lot of folks who can't even name the 50 
states right without aids.
