Eh, I believe there are so many books that are better than Harry
Potter. And this is from someone who loves Harry dearly, BUT if you
are talking only about the books of similar genre, on that I will
agree with you.
I tried to get into a book with child protagonist who has some sort
of encounter with magic quite a few times after I finished DH. Nope,
I could not do it.
To me nothing compares to HP, nothing just as exciting, etc. I mean,
I love "Dark is rising" and "Golden compass", but I read them while I
was still reading Harry, so that does not count, I suppose, but if I
did not read those I highly recommend it.
But today I started a story with the boy who becomes an apprentice to
the wizard with the beard and so far I am loving it so much.
It is the first part of the trilogy and it is called "The magic
thief" by Sarah Prineas. The characters are great and the premise is
interesting.
