It's possibly a mixture of the two you mention.
Basically, you have a group of people who move around while the music
plays and as soon as it stops, they must immediately remain in the position
where they were at that point. the idea is that anyone who wobbles/giggles
/twitches etc. is out; the game progresses until you have a "last man
standing" who wins.
Silly but fun.
