Happy New Year

Happy New Year, everybody. I hope you all have more interesting plans
for New Year's Eve than mine--sitting by my dying Christmas tree
drinking eggnog (unspiked) and watching the Times Square ball till I
fall asleep. Well, maybe I'll just read and finish off the fruitcake.
No parties for me this year, but I expect the neighbors to make a bit
of noise at midnight. I'll just quietly sing "Auld Lang Syne" and
remember the people I've loved who are no longer with me.
