I for one don't want the film and book groups to merge, but I
especially don't want OT and Main to merge. Do people really want me
posting my fruitcake recipe on Main (perhaps pretending that it's
something that the House Elves ought to serve at Christmastime) or
talking about my adventures yesterday with a blown fuse that caused a
loud explosion so much smoke that I had to call the fire department,
pretending that it somehow relates to the havoc that Neville causes in
Potions class?

Just chiming in to say I agree with this sentiment.  I'd be sad to
miss out on Carol's fruitcake (which I am determined to make some this
year ... maybe I'll get a head start this weekend ...) but would be
very turned off to see it on the main list.  I like Steve's earlier
suggestion about making the rules less strict about tangential topics
on the big list, but I'd miss OTC - for one, I would have never
discovered Jim Butcher without OTC!!!

Blegh.  It's warm-ish here, but we're trapped under a deluge or rain.
The sky keeps falling and falling.  Anyone else enjoying this lovely
NE weather?
