I've really enjoyed reading all your posts. I was prompted to post this as I wanted to say thank you to the person who recommended the Dresden Files books on the group during one of the many (and very useful!) book discussions. I can't remember who it was that recommended them and described them so well, but I want to thank them, as this series of books have become a firm favourite and have also helped me through a very sad time in my life (I lost my Nan a few weeks ago, who I was very close too). I have been able to read them one ofter the other from the beginning and the fact that I had soemthing to escape to, to take me away from real life for a little while has really helped me. So once agian, a really big thank you to whoever it was, and I'll now go back to lurkdom for a few more years! Kind Regards, Kerry "The sky isn't evil. Sorry for the extreme OT but I have a question for any Lawyers around here, preferably Canadian.? If the Law Society issues a formal reprimand to a Lawyer, is it considered a bad thing or more of a 'meh, who cares?' type deal?? She lives at my work place. This lady looks so nice, neat, prim and proper on the outside. She has this sweet, quiet voice. On the inside she is the bi**h-queen from hell. She can and does make life miserable for the staff. I'm glad I don't have to deal with her on a regular basis. Except the occasional meeting we're being "summoned" to. Does anyone else have a Delores Umbridge lurking about their work place? Potioncat: Given the nature of the internet, I cannot confirm nor deny if Delores works at my office. But I worked with her and her little covy once before. She wasn't corrupt in the way the HP one was, but was every bit as rigid and demanding in a rather meaningless way. She was quick to make rules and even quicker to punish any infringements. On a funnier note, when I first started one job, one of the sections near me was decorated completely in cute, adorable kittens. I was very concerned until I met the occupant, who bore no other resemblance to DU. She was certainly not an Umbridge look-alike. She was extremely obese, a single woman living alone with her cat, she loved cats, she could charm you when it pleased her to do so, but she could just as easily stab you in the back with a word or action. Really lovely woman! She was the reason I quit my job; the other reason was a lack of advancement opportunity. Peace, Lee
