Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex is the son of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Edward's grandfathers were King George VI of the United Kingdom and Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark, who died in respectively 1952 and 1944, years before Prince Edward was born.
