I just went to the link I typically use, and found the home page, and click on the link to "Which Wizard - The Who's Who of the Wizarding World" and it worked.

It is possible that the Lexicon had multiple domains, such as .com, .net, etc..., that redirected to the .org link, but have let the secondary links/domains expire.
It cost Steve Vander Ark a pretty substantial amount of money to keep the Lexicon up and running. I believe he said one time in an interview, but I don't remember the number. The same is true of sites like "The Leaky Cauldron" fan site. The bandwidth, storage space, constant updates, and so forth cost far more than most would imagine.
Sites like this do a real service to the fan community.
