Geoff:
Centigrade. Equates to 21.2 F.

We all raised our eyebrows when it hit something over -20 C
in Wiltshire which is halfway between us and London and is 
well into the South of England.  It's not unusual for the far
North - the Scottish Highlands for example to be well into
sub-zero. we have now had two winters running with very
cold spells.We got readings this low last year but that was in
January and February which are usually colder. We hit our
freezing temperatures in late November and through December 
and they persisted!
