DVDs are zoned, and yes, the US and the UK are in different zones (US in 
Zone 1, and the UK in Zone 2) which can cause problems (in many cases, 
quite solveable ones), but CDs are not zoned - they will play in any CD 
player.

There can be Copyright restrictions that some retailers follow and so 
won't sell certain CDs to people in certain countries, but there are 
plenty of online retailers who do not observe those rules.
