As far as hotels go, there's a Holiday Inn Express on I-35 and 183
that is reasonably priced and really quite nice. We stayed at a
Clarion Suites this past go-round, which was only fairly decent and
more expensive, so... I'd probably say the Holiday is a good bet, at
least from what I've seen so far. :)
For food.... well, I haven't made it around to the food places yet.
You've got your basics: Chili's, fast food, Red Lobster,
Souper!Salad, pizza joints, steakhouses, Subways, and the like. In the
University area there's an *excellent* place for Thai food. Of course,
I am living in the dorm, where everything is within walking
distance...
For the theater, I would absolutely reccommend going to the I-35
Tinseltown that is across the river. It's large, of course, and could
certainly accommodate us. :)
I'd invite you all to stay with me... if I wasn't already confined to
a space smaller than my room at home, and sharing it with a complete
stranger... :) On the bright side, though, I *did* manage to weasel my
way into getting a parking spot, so I get to keep my car here! Whoo
hoo!
