We have been trying to plan a POA release party, and the thought occured to me that maybe we would all like to do this. I know it seems kinda "Trekkie-ish" to do this, but hey you only live once, and why not live it to the fullest! I am not to sure where everyone else lives, but I live in Huntsville, TX just north of Houston. What we are proposing? A night out at the movies for the family (in wizarding duds no less),dinner, and possibly a get togather to discuss live one-on-one the book series and the movies thus far. If you are interested, post back and lets get this thing rolling, and if we have no takers, then I will get it rolling in my local area. Just thought it might be fun to have everyone get togather for a night and do a little brainstorming!! Hope to hear from ya'll soon. God Bless. I have not really heard from anyone on this group with any plan ideas as of yet, so I am going to go ahead and share with you the plans I have made for myself and some friends. We are going to do dinner and a movie, and all of you are welcome to come along. We decided to stay here in town for some very basic reasons. 1.)We live in a smaller townwhich will make anything we do less likely to become a major event that would offend someone else. 2.)Our local movie theater is really rather cheap 5.oo for adults/3.oo for children large popcorn 4.00 large drink 3.00 popcorn and drink refills are 1.00 3.)A smaller area is more accomadating and less crowded for all of us.Will make things more personal and both adults and kids will be able to enjoy themselves more without all of the hassles that bigger cities bring. Ok, bearing that in mind, this is the WWW's of it all. Who:Anyone who would like to watch the movie and discuss the movies and books/costuming/plot ideas. Anyone else you would like to bring.Adults and children alike. We are going in costume, and think it would be fun if everyone attended in costume, but it is not a requirement. Ok, hope to see you all there, and if you plan to attend please post to the group and let me know. As we get closer to the date of the movie, I will let everyone know the showtimes for the movie, and we can all pick one to go to. I will also be posting the local area restraunts, and dependening on how many are coming, the price ranges everyone wants to deal with, and the time of the showing and dinner, we can all get togather and pick the restraunt we want to eat at after the movie. The only reason I suggested Huntsville was because it is between Houston and Dallas, has a cheap theater, and is a college town so if we act up it won't be so much of a shock to folks. I don't really care too much where we do this, but I want to do it.lol We are all apart of HPFGU, we read the posts, we theorize about the books and I figured it would be a blast for all of us to get togather in one place and see the movie togather and then go to dinner at a cheap buffet type place and sit down and discuss the books without aggrivating our carpel tunnel. If you want to do this then post back on here where you live and we will see if there is a " middle" ground we can meet at, or if we should break of into smaller groups in various cities. For those who do the chats and know each other online pretty well, some could carpool togather to save on gas costs and swap off some of the driving. I do know that the "Witching Hour" is sponsoring line parties for various cities, and they have a "Houston" coordinater, but I haven't heard from her as of yet to any finalized plans she has either....So if we make them before she does, I will let her know what we are planning and see if she wants to swing it that way...Ok, long winded posts, but speak up peoples so we know what to do. By the way, if any are interested, I am still going to go ahead and plan a "Yule Ball" for us to attend in costume for the "GOF" movie release. Lot's of folks want me to tie this on as a small get togather for those who want to do it at the "Witching Hour", but I want to do it here in Texas, because we have as of yet to get a convention of our own 8( If you want to talk in chat...the main group "HPFGU" does a Sunday yahoo chat, and you can catch up with me there. The one near Willowbrook at 1960 and 249, and the Gulf Point (?) one on 45 South at Beltway 8. There may be more, but so far, these are the only ones I know of. I mentioned these two because we will be on one or the other side of town Thursday night and might as well stay out late to catch the movie. Anybody else going to a midnight premiere? If we wind up going to the one South of Houston, we're going to meet at least one more friend at the Bennigan's next to the theater for a late supper before heading on to get our seats. My thoughts on the movie. a f t e r a b i t o f S p o i l e r s p a c e As just a movie goer. It was a pretty good movie. As a HP reader though it was lacking. I would have liked to seen just a few more lines from Lupin about his role in the map and Harry's parents lives. I wish they hadn't reduced Crookshanks role. Pettigrew was nothing like I imagined. And while it was nice that they showed Harry's Patronus as the Stag it is less significant without the explanation that it was his dads animagus form. I also had always imagined the stag running down the dementors not just standing there. Wish the time turner had been explained better. Basically just a bunch of little details were missing that I wish had been included but other than that I thought it was one probably the best of the three to date. ----- Original Message ----- From: Severus To: HPFGU-Texas at yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, June 06, 2004 9:50 PM Subject: [HPFGU-Texas] Re: Is there anybody out there? --- In HPFGU-Texas at yahoogroups.com, "cristina" wrote: > hey patrick et al, > > i agree that there aren't enough people who post to this board...even if i am > one of them, hehe. > > so my name's cristina and i too am a graduate of ut austin. i got a degree in > french and lived in france on & off for the last 2yrs. i'm back for good (i think), > and am so glad to have come back before the harry potter premiere. i was at > a midnight showing on thurs night, one of 6 that were sold out at my local > theatre in austin, where i'm currently living. > > anyway, i go to leaky all the time. although i got into the potter series when > GoF came out, the websites were still all babies. it's amazing to see how > much leaky has grown! > > my fave book is PoA so i was extremely excited about the movie and def > pleased with it. i've only read OoTP once (last summer of course) so i gotta > get started on that after i've reread GoF. i reread all the books when a new > movie comes out just so i can sorta refresh my memory and stay up- to-date > with all the new theories i see online. i'm also into fan fiction which i usually > get from the sugar quill. it's been a while since i've been into the whole hp > online scene, but i'm wanting to get back into it now that i'm not running > around europe. > > so i hope we can all get into some good chats. if anyone wants to chat on > AOL IM, my nickname is cristiner. > > ciao, > cristina :) HI CRISTINA!!!!! *waves energenitically at Cristina* We'd better be careful... there are three of us posting now. *squees* The Leaky huh? Well, Rob say Hi a bit louder, we could barely hear you say something about the movie. I'm sure you said more than that. Sorry I must have missed the rest of the message... *cleans ears* maybe that'll help. Yes the detail you mentioned would have been good left in. I'd like to add: 1) That movie was a good MOVIE. 2) That movie was very rushed. From the opening sequence with Aunt Marje, to the ending, to the space in between. Very rushed. 3) They added CRAP. For example, the stone throwing while back in time, the buckbeak saves Hr/H from Moony while back in time, the unnecessary shots of the Whomping Willow, etc, etc, etc. 4)That crap would have been better served for showing book details omitted. For example, the Fire Bolt confiscating, seeing Prongs when conjured while back in time, reading the entire lists of insults the Marauders Map to Snape. Explaining the stag, and Moony's authorship. 5) The casting was EXCELLENT. I wanted more of Sirius and Lupin. They rocked. Gambon also very good. 6) Draco, Goyle, Dumbledore, and Minerva extremely absent this film. 7) Book 4 will be terribly difficult to make into a single movie smoothly. 8) Peter was too comically done for the drama during the Shreking Shack. The S.S. was rushed and not scarey enough. 9) Lastly, the movie was good, but didn't hold a candle to the greatness of the book. What do you guys think? *dodges all the stones thrown his way* Patrick the Critic ps We can talk about more than this... I like soccer. In-Reply-To: Message-ID: hi all - hey rob, i grew up in san antonio. i went to clark hs, class of 97, hehe. so i agree that as a movie itself, it rocked. i also agree that the things they left out, although they may seem nitpicky, were essential to the flow of the hp series. how could they have left out something as important as the stag being james' animagus and lupin being one of the authors of the map? there were also not enough hints at the fact that the dog was sirius, and flat out saying he was after harry and seeing him in the crystal ball saying "harry potter" was sorta not right. i mean, he was only saying "he's at hogwarts" and they totally left out the fact that he went to ron's bed. i was also a bit disappointed at the firebolt ending rather than the "my godfather's a convicted murderer who broke out of wizard prison and likes to write to me" ending. onto patrick's "they added crap" thing. well, yeah, they did add and change things that were a bit crappy, but a couple of things they added that i totally adored were: the r/h moments, which i love coz i'm an r/h shipper, and the guys in their dorm room eating those candies on their first night back at hogwarts. to me it was like, jk rowling wrote the heart-felt sentence "they reached their familiar, circular dormitory with its five four-poster beds and harry, looking around, felt he was home at last", and cuaron was able to bring it to the screen brilliantly. something else they changed (approaching 3 good things, hehe) that i enjoyed was trelawney's speech to hermione about her not having the eye and clinging desperately to her books etc. it was hilariously delivered and so much more hard-hitting than in the book. i feel like trelawney is probably like that, but i'm not sure if, the way she's written, really gives ppl the impression that she can be sarcastic rather than just flaky. i dunno, i'll definitely see the movie a few more times before i buy the dvd. i wouldn't mind going to see it at the imax, but i'd have to go to san antonio for that since it's not showing at the imax here. anyway, i think that's enough of an email for now. it's good to have off-topic chat as well so if anyone wants to get into it, it's cool. i'm afraid i'll have to reply to everything seperately tho, as to not confuse myself. it's fun to have a little group. wonder if it'll grow! ciao, cristina :) From pbyrd at soccerboyatut2004.yahoo.invalid Tue Jun 8 14:04:43 2004 From: pbyrd at soccerboyatut2004.yahoo.invalid (Severus) Date: Tue, 08 Jun 2004 14:04:43 -0000 Subject: Off Topic (Was: Movie Reviews) In-Reply-To: Message-ID: --- In HPFGU-Texas at yahoogroups.com, "cristina" wrote: > hi all - > > hey rob, i grew up in san antonio. i went to clark hs, class of 97, hehe. > anyway, i think that's enough of an email for now. it's good to have off-topic > chat as well so if anyone wants to get into it, it's cool. i'm afraid i'll have to > reply to everything seperately tho, as to not confuse myself. it's fun to have a > little group. wonder if it'll grow! > > ciao, > cristina :) Off Topic well then, perhaps by alter ego should say Hi. -Patrick I don't want to talk to these Muggle borns. Since it's been a LOOOOONG time since I gave my intro, I'll just do that right now. My name's Tracy, I'm a month away from turning 34, married, no kids, live in Houston. Both my husband and I are Harry Potter fans, me more so than my husband though. When the books first came out, and got popular, I blew it all off as just another kid fad like Pokemon or something. It wasn't until right before the third book was released that a friend convinced me to read the first two books, because she had picked the first one up for "easy" reading on a long trip and realized that it wasn't just for kids and was an amazing fantasy story. I picked up the first book, read it over a period of two days, and finished the second by the end of the week. I borrowed the next two as my mother in law got them (she is a fan too) and for Christmas the year Goblet of Fire was out, my husband bought me all 4 books in hardback. And then we were at the bookstore well before midnight for the book release party last Summer when Order of the Phoenix came out. My favorite of the 5 current books is Goblet of Fire. My favorite of the 3 current movies is Prisoner of Azkaban. I really don't have one absolute favorite character, but I am partial to the Weasley twins, Prof. Snape, and Dumbledore. My husband likes Hagrid and Ron. I only have one other friend offline who's a major Harry Potter fan. All the others have either seen the movies or their kids read the books and they just can't get into it. Yep, that's exactly how I would describe it. It was an amazing movie, especially if you never read the book or haven't read it recently enough that the inconsistencies and omissions of the movie were glaringly obvious. It's been a while since I read POA, and I really didn't think of all the omissions and inconsistencies until after the movie, when we were on our way home and all chatting about it in the car. And even realizing all of that, I still want to go back and see it again. My only complaint about the movie itself, as a stand-alone, is that it moved VERY fast. I went to see it in the wee hours of the morning following a long evening at an arts/crafts event, and my poor tired brain just couldn't keep up in some places. Up until now, I hadn't been big Weasley twin lovers, but I just loved their part in PoA! They actually behaved as they did in the books, finishing each other's sentences etc. I just really hate that Ron didn't seem to have a lot to do. It's as though he is only good for comic relief. That evil eye wouldn't have to last so long if people - meaning me - would remember to check this site more often. Honestly. There just aren't enough hours in the day. But thankfully, now that my A/C is out, this witch is parked in front of the fan and the computer with an ice cold drink, hotly ready to chat. I, like others, wished they could have explained the Marauders, and their Map, a bit better. Would it have killed Harry to ask Lupin how he knew about it and how it worked? I don't think so. A nice, off- hand "Because I created it. With Peter and Sirius. And your father." or some such as he was walking out at the end would have done just fine by me. The Map itself was perfect. I could never picture it in my head. It always came as a flat parchment, which didn't feel right. I loved what they did with it. I only disapprove of the Shrieking Shack scene because it was so short. (And Ron was shafted, but that's for another time I think.) It wasn't as wordy and expository as the book, but I felt it conveyed the history between Lupin, Black, Pettigrew and Snape -though not so much James- just fine. Cuaron was great at showing and not telling, and I picked up much more in the second viewing when I wasn't concentrating so much on what was changed. Lupin's boggart being so obviously a moon bothered me, but I decided it was a bit of shorthand. The one thing I would have liked was to have Sirius seem more of a threat, a menace. No attack on Ron in his bed. No "he's at Hogwarts", which I guess couldn't be in there because they didn't really go into his escape. I did appreciate the non-mention of his having "killed thirteen people with one spell". Everyone was terrified by him, yet the "worst" he was guilty of was betraying his friend. That made the betrayal that much more important, that much worse. Though I bet the jaded didn't get why he was so feared. Now to stop moaning and talk about things I liked: Gambon as Dumbledore. I think he brings more of the eccentricity, more latent energy and power, more "gray". Richard Harris portrayed the wise grandfather Dumbledore of the first books quite well. I think Gambon will be able to better show the ambiguity of action and motive that comes next. Emma Thompson was perfect as Trelawney, even if they didn't show her to be the seemingly fraudulant seer she is usually. All of the returning actors were fine. Grint is showing some great comedic timing. Being as that is all he is given I'd say that's good. Hermione, though still a line/action stealing wench (thanks to the screnwriter being in love with her), didn't annoy this time. Harry, although DR doesn't cry on cue very well, is portrayed as I see him in my mind. And Alan Rickman will always be Snape to me, which bothers me not at all. I liked the new Hogwarts. The "normal life" scenes. Especially where the Gryffindor boys are in their dorm room eating the animal sweets, to me it just emphasized why Harry loves Hogwarts as he does. He is actually happy. It's his home. It's not just because he isn't with the Dursleys. And the change in scenery. I loved the cragginess, the lushness, the way the forest seemed to envelop them. And, oh, how I love the Whomping Willow. My son said it had to do with similar personalities. Then I whomped him. Overall, I really, really like - perhaps love - PoA, both book and movie. They are two different things and that is fine. I wasn't too pleased after the initial viewing, but the second one did it for me. An IMAX viewing is in the works. Oh, if you've gotten this far I suppose an intro is needed. Since I never did. I'm antisocial that way. I am usually joking and being sarcastic, so please bear that in mind. Me: 34 yo divorced mom-o- one, living just outside of San Antonio. A HP fan from way back (that uses her now 10yo son as a cover among the uninitiated) that has read the books more time than is sane to admit, just like everyone else here. It's a happy group that way. I never got into the online thing until recently and still don't really post on the main HPFGU because it's practically impossible to feel caught up and know whether something has already been discussed to death. But that could change. From the length of this post, I think it's changing already. I don't know why, but I've always put her around January/February, opposite of Harry. Maybe Valentines? Not that it has to be a holiday, but I thought it would be interesting if all the crap that happened during the Chamber of Secrets - specifically the singing telegram incident and the embarassment via Malfoy - happened on her birthday. When I first signed on to the HPFGU main list and OT Chatter I spent hours and hours reading those posts. Occasionally I would post, but by the time I decided what I wanted to say and typed a reply, several others had stated the same thing much more elequently than I could. Thus, I went into hiding as something of a peeping Tom or maybe a peeping Tina. Now, I only check those lists periodically and never read all of the posts. This is the only list I read in my email rather at the website, so I was aware that there was more traffic recently. I have been delighted that it has become a little more active. It is a small enough group to manage without committing hours to keeping up with every topic. I'm sure I introduced myself a couple of years ago, but for someone who has been hiding in the shadows I think it best to reintroduce myself. I live in Junction which is almost equidistant between San Antonio and San Angelo and approximately 70 miles from Fredricksburg. I am an "old lady" (Isn't almost 51 old?) school teacher. I teach 5th grade and am known all over town as the "Harry Potter teacher." I even have a sign outside my classroom door that says "5th grade Muggle Studies." This reputation has at times been both a blessing and a curse for me. While most people think it is clever that I am "something of an expert" on the subject, there is the occasional critic who thinks I am corrupting the youth of the community. I have attempted to control my enthusiasm for the subject in order to be seen as something more than a nutter. Although the majority of my friends know that I am a HP fan, only the closest friends and family realize the extent of my obsession. Yes, this has been a bit of a ramble, but it was fun for me to put it into writing. Now, about Ginny and Harry, and for that matter Ron and Hermione, I believe they are made for each other. I have always thought that the singing Valentine was from Ginny even though it doesn't say so. Now that you mention Fred and George, I think that could be a real possibility. It is one of the funniest spots in the book. I will probably go around singing it for the rest of the day now. Although I have resisted reading fan fiction except for an excerpt or chapter now and then, this summer I have become engrossed in it. Some of it is really bad and some is intriguing. I am thinking it is time to get away from that and reread the books to help me get it all out of my mind. Have any of you read any fan fic? That, and the fact that the few times I have posted, I have been made to feel a little "dumb", although I don't think that was anyone's intent. I still feel as though I am not quite up to the "level" of the main list. ;) I am an "old > lady" (Isn't almost 51 old?) school teacher. I teach 5th grade and am > known all over town as the "Harry Potter teacher." You're not old! :P I'm 37 myself, and I have to say that being involved in my kids' schools makes me feel a bit old. I love the sign over your classroom! I've mentioned HP to some of my kids' teachers, and they haven't read it yet! As much hype that goes with HP, I would have thought they would have read it already. Oh, well. This > reputation has at times been both a blessing and a curse for me. While > most people think it is clever that I am "something of an expert" on the > subject, there is the occasional critic who thinks I am corrupting the > youth of the community. Ohhh, I know what you mean. I come from a Christian background, and hubby and I are pretty involved in church and are raising our kids with good values, we hope. BUT.....the mother-in-law and brother-in- law and sister-in-law see HP as EVIL. It's to the point that no one brings it up anymore, because they know that I will launch into the stories to try and explain that it's not about the magic (well, not entirely about it, to me anyway), it's the story of Harry and his choices...blah blah blah. Those of us on these lists know what we are talking about. Anyway, they know better than to bring it up at this point. But mom-in-law has to get her digs in sometimes and give this tragic "sigh" with the, "I can't really believe that you let your children read this and watch the movies." It really, really annoys me sometimes, but I keep quiet when she says things like that, mostly just to keep family peace. That, and my husband is stepping on my foot :P. I have attempted to control my enthusiasm for > the subject in order to be seen as something more than a nutter. > Although the majority of my friends know that I am a HP fan, only the > closest friends and family realize the extent of my obsession. I know what you mean. Not to go into my boring life's story, but HP helped pull me out of some rough spots. I was fighting some depression and anxiety, and I found that if I focused on the books, among other things, and I hit the gym, I was able to pull out of it with the help of some medication. My best friend one day said, "You know, you used to talk about HP a lot, but you've slacked off. Thank God, because it was really annoying me." That irked me, but when I explained what it had done for me, she said she was sorry. She's a HP fan, too, just not as into as I am. I could still talk about it all day, but I curb my enthusiasm so everyone doesn't drop me like a hot potato ;). > Yes, this has been a bit of a ramble, but it was fun for me to put it > into writing. Some speculate that Hermione was born in 1980 and allowed to enter Hogwarts early being as she's such a clever little witch. Personally, I lean towards 1979. I don't think that the telegram was Ginny's still at all really, unless diary!Tom somehow convinced her... for some reason, just reading y'alls responses, my mind went to Luna. Yeah, I know that we didn't know about her until OotP, but the toad eyes just seem much more her style. I think that if Ginny wrote it it would have been much nicer. Unless D!T wrote it for her, what with the last line about beating the Dark Lord. He's so egocentric that he'd work mention of himself in there somehow if he had the opportunity. I don't know that I'm OBHWF, but right now the only girl I'd want Harry with is Ginny. I just recently tried my hand at a little. I'm not brave enough yet to publish it. Maybe someday. I am interesting in the above mentioned stories. Let me know something. I put something about "Texan" on the on the subject of the last post and forgot to make my point. As I was typing the original post, I had to concentrate really hard to remember to avoid the "ya'll" thing. Now I am thinking that I shouldn't have been worried about it. It fits right in with the "must a could" and "fixin" phrases I use in my oral speech. I grew up in East Texas. At least I have lost a lot of that accent. I have only read "Harry Potter and the Brotherhood of the Besotted" as I just got this rec a couple of days ago from the lovely women at chicklit.com, but I'm going to have to try some more of hers. It would go nicely with the theory of him being the HBP. Probably too nicely. Aberforth came to mind next. I keep reading this, but that isn't how I saw her quote at all. >From the 2004 Edinburgh Book Festival Q: Out of all your books, which book is your favorite? JKR: It varies. I would have to say that it is probably Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, although at the moment - it is unfair of me to say it - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is my favourite book. Sorry. I am the only one who has read it and I think it is rather good. I am normally like this when I write a book. Usually when I am just over halfway I normally love it, but by the time I finish it I completely despise it and think it is worthless rubbish. At the moment, I really like how the sixth book is going. A lot happens in the sixth book and a lot of questions are answered. I really have a sense that we are nearly there and it is time for answers, not more questions and clues, although obviously there are a few more clues as I'm not quite finished yet. I hope that that is sufficiently frustrating for you, knowing that you can't read it yet! Okay. See, I think there are three ways to look at this, with the "halfway done writing" conclusion being my least likely. The people writing this seem to get to the word halfway and stop. I do not agree with this. I *think* that she is way more than halfway done and is surprised to find herself still liking it rather than growing in despise. The unusally optimistic (for me) view would be that she's written the whole enchilada and is working on the revision, possibly even halfway done with this as well. She says "she's the only one to have read" the book... so it could be done. The "I'm not finished yet" referring to the series, not book 6. Hi. I'm Pollyanna. Niced to meet you. If the "Do Not Disturb" sign is off of the door then there is something back there. It may look empty, but it is not. Some people have difficulty getting the clues that are there if they don't empty their cache files on their computer. I know that stopped a friend of mine at first. The initial time the door opened it showed a brick wall. Some people were able to put 2 & 2 together with Hagrid's entering Diagon Alley and just started randomly searching the bricks for the ones to hit. Then it was just a matter of more patience searching the space for the light. This last time, I have no idea how anyone figured it out. I saw the excerpt because I used instructions I found on another site, maybe HP4GU, maybe somewhere else. I don't recall. But to my quickly aging mind, it was impossible without the steps being given to me. I would seriously like to know how the first person figured out they had to wait for Peeves on the "Extra Stuff" page! Certainly it was someone much more knowledgeable about computers than I am... though that doesn't really narrow the field much. Unfortunately, I think the door is now locked. How long has THAT been there?? Anyway, they had some really cool t-shirts, that messenger bag, trading cards and leather wallets and wristbands. She said they had some more HP stuff on order because they had sold out of ball caps and back packs. I loved the t-shirts with Harry and Ron on them but, like everything else these days, they were so incredibly TEENY. Now, I am a small person, but I don't want a t-shirt squeezing the breath out of me. I will definitely be going back to see what comes in next....cool little shop. All my boys are up their eyeballs in homework, preparing for the $%&*@# TAKS tests. That's what they base an entire year on around here, right? ;) Anyone else around here hate that test as much as I do? I saw the recent pics of Daniel R. and Emma W. filming GoF. Dan has become such a tall stick! How fast they grow. There are days when I look at my kids and swear they are growing right in front of me. Has anyone else watched "The Best Summer Ever" on VH1? They talk about PoA being a great summer movie, but that Daniel is growing too fast and outgrowing Harry, so to speak. Aaaarrgghh! Why do people keep bringing that up?! I think it's fine, kids grow. Any opinions out there? Haven't seen the show, but the first chapter of OotP mentions how much growing Harry's done recently - seems to me Radcliffe is only a little ahead of schedule! -- - Boggles, aka J. C. B. OoOooh, I don't know if I want to touch this one. I see Harry and Hermione working so much together, that I am afraid it might be Ron. I keep thinking about the prophecy, and how it mentions that Harry has a power that the Dark Lord knows not. Could that power not only be the love and compassion Harry has for his friends, or could the power BE those friends? I don't think Voldemort has friends - he has people that obey him and hang with him mostly out of fear. I think someone will die, but I am never good at guessing who it will be. I do think that somehow, his friends will help him defeat Voldemort, and it's possible that one of them might be lost. I just don't know..... Message-ID: <1f5.e8ebf1.2ea0dadd@...> I'm going to try not to get caught up in speculating who's gonna die, and how it's gonna happen. In fact, I've decided to try and not really do much speculating at all and just wait until the book comes out and enjoy it with as few preconcieved notions as possible. On another note, I got my Hogwarts school crest messenger bag from Hot Topic. I had to order it from the website because the two HT's I stopped by locally didn't have it and the clerks never recalled even seeing anything but HP tee shirts and stickers in the store. But it's pretty good for the price. Nothing special. Part silkscreened and part embroidered school crest on the outer flap. Kind of canvas fabric with webbing strap. Plastic buckles and such. The inside is lined with flimsy vinyl, but what do you expect. A kind of HP with lightning bolt on the inside organizer section. The body of the bag is big enough to tote stuff around in. I had hoped on a bit better quality, but it was not as poorly made as I feared it could have been. I'm happy with it. Tracy [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
