Well, how does one follow the eloquence of our Brian :)
I 'like the books' too...actually I love the books. To me they are utter
escapism for both adults and children. I heard a description from someone
not long ago that you can 'escape into the world of Harry Potter'. That
about says it for me. Any reference to devil worship and encouraging
small childrens heads to spin around and spit pea soup is rubish,
orchestrated by mugglish morons whose idea of a good time on a saturday
night is trimming their nose hair and boycotting the Disney Channel.
I have enjoyed these books like none I have read in the past 20 years..and
that's saing something.
It is the story of a small boy, who by overcoming the misery of his
start in the world, gains the respect of his schoolmates and elders alike.
Harry Rocks. period
