Alec Guinness can certainly do owl-like and plump. Witness his portrayal
of George Smiley in the "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" mini-series.
I agree with alisc4 that Vernon should be plump. Perhaps a little
Hollywood magic could fit John Cleese for that role, a la Eddie Murphy in
"The Nutty Professor."
Now, can we find some good roles for two of my favorite actors, Bob
Hoskins and Michael Caine?
