I've always like Michael Caine for this part. I could see John Cleese
as Filch, or maybe even better yet Peeves. I mean we are talking about a
man that made a movie called how to irritate people, and at the same time
created Basil on Fawlty Towers. Basil is just about how I picture Filch

Anybody but Emma Thompson for Professor McGonagal will be a let down
for me. Of course I think she should be in every movie.

I rewatched Field of Dreams a few weeks ago, and became enchanted with
tehe idea of Ray Liota playing Snape. That Shoeless Joe Character is just
the kind of thing. Simple, scandalised, with a hint of real danger. Even
though it was a character that you were suppose to like there was always
something sort of frieghtening about him, and at the end when he showed
a flash of nastiness it was very impressive.
