Nice to meet you, too, and welcome to Harry Potter for Grown Ups.
I'm really sorry it took so long to get back to you, I've been out of
commission for a few days.

Regarding your question, I guess I never considered Harry Potter books
to be just for children, or maybe, I've got a child-like (I hope not
"childish") mind--to me, they're like the Star Wars series or the Lord
of the Ring books - something for all ages.

Anyway, your question started me thinking - why do the Potter books
appeal to people of all ages? I hope you all will jump in here and tell
us all why you like Harry Potter.

I think I like the series because I've always been a fan of "fairness",
and I love it when the "meek and the small" triumph over big, bad
bullys. Also, I love the fun stuff. Finally, I think the actual writing
is great - literate and imaginative.

But way too much about what I think - how about you?

Barbara
