I heard about it on Rosie, but I sort of figured it would be like most
children's books... I don't know if you guys noticed this but some
children's writers narrate the story as if they are talking at a really
stupid person, (I had a Chemistry Teacher like that, she would speak to
us like we were two years old)
but that's probably one reason why kids and adults love this book. JKR's
narrative voice is intriguing, she tells the story as if she were telling
it to people of many different ages, and not as if these kids who are
reading it are naive little people who have absolutely no idea about
reality and all the things that go on it.
Anyway I picked up PoA first (my local book store didn't have the
other 2) ... loved that so much that I picked up book 2... and then,
finally found book 1!! So I sort of went backwards about it... but of
course to straighten myself out, I went forwards and that's when i saw
all the little bits and pieces of info that were crucial in the next
2 books... like that Whomping willow tree... who knew that's what it
would be!
anyway now I'm hooked and i've got atleast 10 other kids in my highschool
hooked too!! I've even got a teacher reading it...
which reminds me, i need to get my book back from him...
