I would disagree with this. Of course, now that we know that Beckhorn
was kidding, it's silly to discuss his views as rational/non-rational.

But, as that discussion occurred, it seemed to me that given just
one simple Fundamentalist Christian premise all his arguments would
logically follow.

That premise being: Any one who practices magic has a close relationship
with Satan.

If you accept that, then the Potter books are espousing behavior practiced
by people with a close relationship with the Devil. It doesn't matter
at all that they are practicing comraderie, team spirit, family loyalty,
patriotism, or whatever. If they are, at the same time, practicing magic
which puts them into close relationship with the Enemy of Man, then all
those "good" qualities are moot.
