I think (and it may just be me) that Iago's point was not that the books
should be banned, and I also got the feeling that, yes, he DID agree with
Skimmel about "preparing to defend" our views. I think he was arguing
with the idea of banning someone from the club, because that would make
us just as small-minded. We can't defend our first amendment rights while
denying them to others'. That is what would make us hypocrites. Barbara
posted the same message last night, but I think Iago was a little more
eloquent. (I also got the idea that he was being very "Swiftian" in the
way he presented his views. - But then again, maybe that was just me.)

Also, banning people from the club would be pointless, because they
can always come up with a new yahoo! username and re-join. Besides,
debate is good. It keeps our aging minds active - well, my aging mind,
anyway... <LOL>
