Here's one you may find amusing:
I collect covers for the various Harry Potter books from around the
world. One of my friends in Moscow just sent me a cover of a book that
purports to be "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" in Russian. I
don't read enough Russian to get very far past the title but as close
as I can tell that is what the title says. (You may say that there is
no official Russian edition of any of the Harry Potter books and you
are probably right. International copyright laws don't slow the Russian
underground down very much.)
The problem is that the illustration does not go with any scene in the
book. Some other international versions do this as well. The Italian
Philosopher's Stone cover shows Harry wearing a hat that looks like
a giant mouse head while playing chess with a giant mouse. One of the
Spanish covers shows Harry standing on platform 9 3/4 looking at a bright
blue Hogwarts express.
I recognized the Russian cover at once and it goes with a different
book. Your assignment is to guess what the right book is. I'll give
you two clues: 1) Potter is involved and 2) It shows a rabbit in a blue
waist coat eating a carrot.
Sorry no huge prizes.
