We have a basement, but I'd much rather be in Vancouver. I visited there
9 years ago and have many fond memories of Vancouver, Victoria island
and Whistler.
I have a thought about the third book. It seems to me that the author was
very careful to avoid changing the timeline at the end of the book. Harry
was not allowed to alter any activity that had been written about, and
he actually saw himself do something before he was sent by Dumbledore
to do it. This almost implies that any time travel has in effect already
taken place and would have been part of the story line.
I suppose that this makes it easier for the author to keep sane when
trying to tell a story, but it seems to limit the possibilities for
changing the outcome of the story if something bad happens. Also, Harry
says that he knew he could do something because he had already see himself
do it. This seems to take some of the excitement out of the story to me.
Speaking of Time Travel, I wonder what happens if you actually talk to
yourself (ie. meet yourself while travelling back in time)? Would you
just assume it was someone else like Harry Potter did?
