to everyone that reads too much into a kid's book, or anything for
that matter, please lighten up. jkr is probably not trying to make any
significant "read between the lines" statement. it's a story, a great
one mind you, but nothing more. some of the messages i have read since
i've been in this club for the whole 3 or 4 days have been absolutely
ridiculous. the dursley's stand for this and the rhino stands for that,
please, give me a break. there is no doubt in my mind that jkr wrote what
she meant and that if she read these messages her eyes would roll back in
her head with an exhausting sigh of "OH MY GOD". I realize that not too
many people are going to like this message but think about it before you
retaliate. i have read through several intelligent conversations about
harry potter and intend to continue participating in them but once again,
for all you folks that have gone overboard, lighten up.
